Fav Character: I liked Kyrian because he isn't shy and that type of character it the opposite of mine.

Hunted by one of the deadliest of vampires, Amanda is the key to our survival. If she goes down, so does he, and-- no offense-- he doesn't want to die (hence the whole immortality thing). And he doesn't want humanity dead either, which is a good thing for us since he and Amanda are all that stands between us and oblivion.

Let's hope they win.

Review: It is a vampire story and it has the same basis as most vampire stories, but I still liked it. Maybe there's something wrong with my brain.... Anyways, the drawings were pretty good and the story was well told since it was originally a book they condensed it. It has romance and action.

I think it's a lot harder to review manga since I can't really feel any of the characters. In such a short book, they have little time to develop and that was one of the problems of this book. The main characters aren't too difficult to understand, but there wasn't enough explaining of their background or what they are.

Many references are made to Amanda being human when she has powers and her family hunts vampires. Then I don't understand whether Kyrian is a vamp or not. He seems to be some sort of god or something. I didn't get any of that. I think I'm gonna have to re-read it.

The story's plot was fast-paced, although not a lot happened since it was like barely an introduction to the series. I meant fast-paced in the sense that the characters readily accept each other. They learn their different stories and the action was mostly in the past. Like there was half a page on how the main character was going to fight and then it was over. No details or anything really. It just went on.

In the end, I was really sorry to have finished it because I was really beginning to like it. I would still recommend it because among the Manga I've read, it was good and slightly different since it is the more western style than Asian.

Response: This sounds quirky. I like that word! Quirky, quirky...quirk! Anyways, it has romance in it and looks like it'll be sarcastic. We'll just have to see.

Tenjo loves Riiko like he's programmed to, but then he starts breaking away from the script while Riiko's "boss", Soshi, starts spending more time with Riiko and maybe feeling something more than just a boss-employee relationship.

Review: Please watch it if you get the chance. It's nice and short, but super funny and cute. I love Riiko because she's totally real and then there is Soshi who's such a flirt. Tenjo doesn't lack robotness, but he's just so nice and NICE that it just makes me feel for him. T.T He loves Riiko so much, but she can only see him as an electric appliance! Oh well, it rocks so go look it up.

Favorite Character: Annabel-I don't know what it was about her, but I don't think I'd mind being her friend.

Review: This was actually a surprisingly good book. I immediately fell in love with the music angle even though I had never heard of any of those bands. Music makes everything cooler. The storyline was pretty typical for this kind of conflict, but the music made it somewhat more unique.

Annabel is kind of too bland. Her personality seems too unselfish for a human and then she has random moments of really good self-esteem. I don't know what it was about her that just didn't agree with me. I didn't hate her, but I didn't like her.

Owen pretty much rocked. He really is an interesting person and he can be quite unpredictable. His sister, on the other hand, is super annoying.

Sophie is a blind meanie-head who deserves the freaking cheater of a boyfriend and also the humiliation that she's had to go through because of her terrible choices.

I love the story and I love this book. Just Listen is really a good summer book to read out on your lawn chair. If you have time, I suggest that you pick this up.

Hot Shot

This is another Taiwanese drama featuring:

Alan Luo!!! (who doesn't love him?) (also fav character)

Jerry Yan!!! (wow, he looks great in this one unlike Meteor Garden)

and (my personal fave) Wu Chun! (O.O I'd have watched it just for him...)

Summary: Da Ying's grandmother's passing took quite a toll on him, but one awesome thing will come out of it.

As a child, he had been strictly forbidden from even mentioning basketball with unreasonable will., but his grandmother's death was the right time for him to embark on his basketball career. Even if he has to start out as a player for the "Five Losers" team which, needless to say, sucks.

Other things like love, flimsy friendships, brotherhood, and his beautiful coach's health will put Da Ying's hilariously sweet character to the test. Is he cut out for the basketball leagues?

Review: Yup, what can I say? I love Show. He is super funny even when he cries! The storyline was very typical of Taiwanese Dramas, but that's why I love them. I wish the ending had been better though. Very disappointing. Other than that, this drama made watching basketball exciting, which I normally despise. That's got to count for something!
