Through The Monsoon

Artist: Tokio Hotel

Info: I really like music so I decided to post some of my favorite songs on here. I know this song is kind of old but its my current obsession so yea. I really like the singer's voice and also the music and lyrics. Its really pretty even though I don't really like the music video and the singer is a lil creepy. (just my opinion! ^.^) Anyway, his name is Bill Kaulitz. The other 3 members are his twin brother, Tom Kaulitz, Georg Listing, and Gustav Schafer. This song is from the album titled SCREAM. I think the year was 2007. Tokio Hotel is a German band but i think they should sing more songs in English because they sound great! Well here it is.

Millicent Min: Girl Genius

Author: Lisa Yee

Summary: Millicent Min is having a bad summer. Her fellow High School students hate her for setting the curve. Her fellow eleven-year-olds hate her for going to High School. Her grandmother Maddie is moving away. And in an effort to give Millicent a more "normal" childhood, her mom has not only signed her up for volleyball, she's also arranged to tutor Stanford Wong-jock, jerk, and poster boy for Chinese geekdom.
But when Millicent meets Emily, things start to look up. Emily doesn't know Millicent's IQ score. She actually thinks Millicent is cool. And if Millicent can hde her awards, ignore her grandmother's advice, blackmail Stanford into silence, learn to serve a volleyball over the net, stop her parents from embarrassing her forever, and keep all her lies straight, she just might make her first friend. What's it going to take? Sheer genius.

Review: This is a really good story probably geared towards younger readers, even though i also enjoyed it. The pages are filled with irony and sarcasm which gives the story an awesome atmosphere and makes it that much more fun. Millicent is a genius who seems less preoccupied with having a social life than with becoming the smartest person on earth. But everyone needs a friend so she becomes superficial in order to keep Emily's friendship but thats not how true friends are. Unfortunately, Millicent has not had previous experiences to help her through this. This story is told from Millicent's point of view.

He Qun is in NO mood to talk about it so he tries evading them, but as he runs down the street he smacks into a girl, falling on top of her. The press gets to thinking that the girl and He Qun are together. He Qun runs with her in hand to avoid her speaking with them. Now she is to pretend that they are engaged in order to protect He Qun's reputation. This happens to be convenient to Xiao Shi as well since she didn't want to tell her family that she was dumped again. But maybe this new fake relationship might evolve into something more or her ex will finally see the wrong he committed. Maybe Xiao Shi will finally break the evil curse.
Review: This drama was absolutely the best. Filled with the typical Taiwanese comedy, Nicholas Teo and Cyndi Wang go on a quest to deal with the past and look to the future. Xiao Shi proves to be a loyal friend, helping He Qun throughout all of the scandals pulled by the suffocating press as well as the pressure of his family. Xiao Shi's happiness next to him is felt in this cute drama. Its a must see!!

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

Author: Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

Summary: Nick just got dumped by his 6 month girlfriend. As a punk band member, he spends his time at the clubs where his ex frequents and one night he sees her coming towards him with another guy. Hurt, he asks the girl sitting next to him if she'd play his girlfriend for a couple minutes. Norah dislikes his ex a lot so as she gets closer, Norah pulls in Nick for a kiss. One that changes the rest of their night.

Review: This is the first book I have read by Rachel Cohn. I have got to say that it threw me a little off guard but it really turned out to be a great book! Nick and Norah are great characters who definately belong together. This is a book on finding true love in the least likely of places and then confessing that its more than a "one night stand". I recommend everybody read it!
